LASER Technology for the Treatment of Vein Disorders
The Advanced Vein Center recently implemented the Dornier Laser. The Dornier diode laser Medialis D
can be applied in many surgical fields: in ear, nose and throat surgery, endoscopy, urology, pediatric surgery, phlebectomy, tattoo removal and orthopedics. Ansgar Brossardt and Arno Körner's team of designers at ID Design in Munich designed the device for the manufacturer Dornier.
The laser enables one to perform precise tissue surgery
or percutaneous (i.e. through the skin) treatment of slipped discs and varicose veins. It can be held in a handy diagonal position. The handle can be pulled out like a telescope - similar to a shopping trolley - so that the device can be transported over longer distances inside the clinic. Dornier's straightforward control surface with
integrated LCD screen contains multifunction buttons which are easy to use. The device was recently awarded for its exemplary design by the Stuttgart Design Centre.
